The Kapil Sharma Show to Come to an End Soon

How many of us were glued to our television screens on 22nd July’s Saturday night at 9? And probably on Sunday too? The audience was eagerly waiting for another merry-time episode of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. But to our utter disappointment, Sony TV greeted us with an old episode with Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech as the star guests.

Another bad news is that the ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ may very soon go off air. The entertainment industry is abuzz with the news that Sony TV is no further renewing Kapil Sharma’s contract. TRP’s have dipped, popularity has slipped and the show might get upon itself a lid!

Mid-Air Brawl Between Actors
As Fame knocked Kapil Sharma’s door, so did arrogance and overconfidence. The mid air dispute between Kapil and his co-actors, majorly Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar let to their split. Soon, the actors bade adieu to the show. Sunil Grover, who potrayed the role of Dr. Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi on the show, was the show’s lifeline. Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar were equally important. Ever since they have vacated the show, TRPs have dipped.

Sony TV gave Kapil Sharma an ultimatum to anyhow revive its TRP within a few months.

The Kapil Sharma Show’s Miserable TRP
Sony TV is having second thoughts about renewing the contract with Kapil Sharma. The reality show which once broke all TRP records is now struggling to keep up their position in the TRP chart. Before the spat between the show’s actors’, the zenith of the show was such that the 1st position in TRP charts were almost considered reserved for the show. Despite umpteen efforts put in by the Kapil Sharma Show’s team, it has failed to maintain a position in the top 5. Forget about top 5, the show is no-where near the top 10 positions.

Kapil Sharma’s Health Issues
Kapil Sharma is reportedly suffering from a bad phase of stress. Three shootings had been cancelled as he fainted just before the shoot began. ‘Mubarakan’, ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and ‘Guest in London’ shoot were put to halt as Kapil was rushed to hospital.

Here’s what Kapil Sharma’s sister told the media, “These days, bhai (Kapil Sharma) is going through a lot of health issues and it’s sad to hear that people are calling him unprofessional. He has always respected his work; he will never give an excuse to cancel his shoot.” She said, “He is taking a lot of stress due to low TRP of his show. Stress is raising glucose level in his body and is also the cause of low blood pressure. He is frequently getting ill because he doesn’t eat properly. Also, doctors have advised him to take rest but he is not listening to them at all”

Rumours have it that it is the ‘beginning of the end’ for ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. There are reports that the channel also has other shows ready to replace it, if needed. Salman Khan’s ‘Dus Ka Dum’, which is marking its comeback after eight long years, might leap to the time slot. Krushna Abhishek’s ‘Drama Company’ too may take over the time slot. Sony TV is also gearing up with last year’s superhit ‘Super Dancer’.

On the other hand, Kiku Sharda, who is Kapil Sharma’s right hand in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ currently, rubbished all speculations terming them ‘stupid’ and ‘baseless’.

Let’s hope that ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ recovers from the rough phase asap, with Ali and Sunil back. After all it is we, the audience that is at the loss of laughter.
