judwa2 movie review

The Dhawan father-son duo is here to serve some hot action comedy drama to your platter this Friday. Judwaa 2 that has seen its release on 29 September 2017 is, as the name suggests, a story of twins. The movie basically offers you a trip full of reminisces to the yesteryear’s Judwaa that starred Salman Khan in the lead role. Judwaa 2 has a basic storyline of its pre-quel (original Judwaa), with loads of dialogues, one-liners, loud music and of course Jacqueline and Taapsee.

Judwaa 2 comes as a Dussehra greeting to fans from the Dhawan Duo. The two are working together the second time after ‘Main Tera Hero’. The film has hit the screens all over India and abroad and is expected to hit the 100 crore club soon.

Cast, Crew and other details
Leads: Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu

Movie Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Story-line of Judwaa 2
Since there are not many changes with the script, Judwaa 2’s story runs parallel to Judwaa. Varun Dhawan plays a double role as Raja and Prem, twins who were separated at birth by a smuggler who kidnaps Raja. Thus, one (Prem) matures as a geek in a comfortable luxury life in London, while Raja grows up into a goon in the low-lying fishermen’s colony somewhere in Mumbai. The twins however, still share a genetical connection of reflexes. They both happen to cross each other’s path and there’s where the fun begins. Tapsee Pannu and Jacqueline are the love interests of both the brothers. The story unfolds in gags as the twins save their family from the clutches of smugglers.

Songs in the Film
Judwaa 2 is offering some loud music, with two songs that are remakes of hit classics.

– Suno Ganpati Bappa morya
– Uunchi hai building
– Aa to sahi

Our Review
Judwaa 2 is Varun Dhawan’s most anticipated film this year, with large scale promotions going on and around all mediums. Judwaa 2 does not offer anything new since the entire screenplay is based on the previous script; but it does have new faces to offer. Varun captures most of the screen time as the twin-poles-apart brothers. If you’re looking for a bunch of good actors together, Judwaa 2 is the perfect deal for you. Apart from the leads- Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu, the audience gets to see the original ‘Judwaa’ star Salman Khan in a cameo. Then there is power-packed veteran actor Anupam Kher, a guest appearance by Karishma Kapoor, and some essential roles played by Ali Asgar, Vivan Bhatena and Pawan Malhotra. Other than Varun’s there are little roles to play, especially by the female leads.

Though the original Judwaa would impress half of us more, Varun doesn’t let us down either. While playing both the roles he’s completely lost in his character. His gags are on point. The film seems to have borrowed dialogues from a lot of yesteryears films, which make it all the more attractive. The lavish cars and places that the film takes one through will make everyone go awe-struck. Plus, there’s some good old music to cherish there. All in all, it’s a decent average film to watch at the dussehra weekend.

We give it a 2.5/5 star rating!

Judwaa 2 does not have a biggie as its competition at the silver screen. Other films that will be fresh releases in the last weekend of September 2017 are either regional movies of a couple of not-much-hyped-about Hollywood projects. Judwaa 2 will have around 30-40% opening at the box office on its first day and is expected to hit 100 crores within a week.

Double rejoice yourself with Judwaa 2!
