Apple CEO Tim Cook marked the 10th anniversary of the tech giant on September 12, 2017 with the launch of Apple’s much awaited gadget, The Apple iPhone 8. The CEO took to the stage of Steve Jobs Theater in Apple’s new Cupertino headquarters on the special event two announce the launch of three handsets- Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8+ and iPhone X.

Speculations as to what iPhone 8 could potentially be began as early as the launch of its predecessor iPhone 7. A previous article at wholikeit.com revealed what the iPhone 8 will likely be. Barring a few, the latest iPhone 8 is quite in terms with the changes as expected.

Here’s what Apple iPhone 8 has to Offer
The most noticeable changes to the iPhone 8 come in its display. iPhone 8 features a 4.7-inch screen with a Retina display (Full HD, 750×1334 pixels). It has rounded sides. Unlike expected, iPhone 8 retains its ‘home button’ below display. A major change comes with the full glass back that iPhone 8 dons. Until now iPhones came in an aluminum body, glass making it feel slightly lighter at 148grams. The thickness is maintained at 7.3mm. The retina display furnishes the image quality, making it more vivid and sharp. In spite of these changes, its overall looks are quite similar to that of iPhone 7.

Talking about the camera, as Apple likes to call it, “The world’s most popular camera, now even better.” The quality of the pictures will improve with iPhone 8’s 12MP camera with sensor in the back. With optical image stabilization, it offers you to capture high definition crisp and clear pictures and videos; zooming into pictures more vivid than ever. iPhone 8 also supports better pixel processing, faster auto focus and hardware noise reduction. It is ready to offer all time best experience with VDR. iPhone 8 Plus has a dual rear camera.

IPhone 8 will be available only in two storage capacities – a 64GB and a 256GB variant, ditching the 32GB version this time. Though it remains unconfirmed as yet, it supports a 2 GB RAM. It will be available in three colour variants- Silver, Grey and Gold.

On the Battery front, iPhone 8 is supported by the new A11 Bionic chip manufactured using 10nm process. Apple says the new A11 Bionic chip is 25% faster than the A10 in iPhone 7. It will enable a prolonged and efficient battery life. A major upgradation is the glass-back that implements wireless charging with Apple’s notion “Wireless charging for a wireless world”. iPhone 8 offers fast charging via a USB-C power adaptor which according to the makers will charge up to 50% of the battery in 30 minutes. It will also charge with Qi certified wireless chargers.

Since both iPhone 8 and its Plus model lack a headphone jack, Apple iPhone 8 comes with accessories- a Lightning-to-3.5mm dongle and a pair of Lightning EarPods in the box.

No significant changes can be seen. However, the tenth anniversary edition iPhone X has engulfed all the changes expected in iPhone 8, be it OLED display or facial recognition or no-physical home button.
