Our Review
Lucknow Central is a long-talked-about project of Farhan Akhtar. Farhan plays a different role this time as an innocent convict of murder. The movie that is based on real life events is a well executed film. Despite being predictable and somewhat similar to the recently released ‘Qaidi Band’, Lucknow Central is a different experience altogether. You will be able to feel a myriad of emotions that the protagonist goes through.

If anyone is to be awarded the title of Mr. Perfectionist after Amir Khan, it is Farhan Akhtar, and he successfully makes you feel why, with Lucknow Central. Qaidi no. 1821 urges one to fight for their dreams amid all obstacles. His efforts to fail at English and his desi avatar will surely make one smile. Lucknow Central also has a terrific supporting cast. Ronit Roy is unmistakably flawless as a shrewd jailor. Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma, Inaamulhaq, Ravi Kishan, Diana Penty and Gippy Grewal have proved their mettle with their praise-worthy performances; each one portraying their roles up to perfection.

As the genre of the film is drama, Lucknow Central offers quite a drama moments. There is absolutely no tad bit of surprise in the prison-break drama. Everything is easily predictable yet the excellent performances by all actors will keep you glued to your seats until the very end. All in all, the first-time director Ranjit Tiwari delivers a praiseworthy film.

Audience has also been appreciating Farhan for his talent displayed in Lucknow Central, terming it the best one after ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.

We give it a 3.5/5 star rating!
